The NFL has fired Browns coach Hue Jackson after the team was found to have violated its policy prohibiting coaches from making players kneel during the national anthem during the 2016 season.
The league says it’s looking into the allegations, which are the latest fallout in a year of protests by players and coaches over racial injustice in the country.
The NFL has been in turmoil since a player who was a backup quarterback for Jackson said he was blackballed by the team after he complained about racial injustice at a training camp.
The players are demanding that the team fire Jackson, who was fired in February, but the league has not said what steps it is taking.
