Windows 8 is finally getting a new tint.
You can change it for a cleaner reading experience or for better viewing.
If you are running Windows 8, you can go to Settings > Performance > Color, and change the tint to whatever you want.
But, in case you have any other Windows 8 app that you need to keep on your desktop for a long time, you might want to consider doing that.
As for this article, I tested the tint option on my Windows 8 tablet.
In the first place, this tint option is only available in Windows 8.0 Insider Preview.
But as of today, Windows 8 also includes the following color options: default, blue, cyan, gold, red, yellow, and white.
I personally don’t like the blue option because it is too blue and looks artificial.
The cyan option is the only option that works well for me.
You could also change it to match the color scheme of your desktop wallpaper.
In Windows 8 Insider Preview, the default tint color is blue and you can adjust the color from there.
As of today in Windows 10 Insider Preview and later, the tint color will change automatically in Settings > Display > Colors.
So, whether you use Windows 8 or Windows 10, you should know how to change it.
In this article I’ll give you a quick tip to change your Windows 10 desktop tint color.
Note: You will need to be logged in as Administrator to change this tint in Windows.
You can also change the background color in Windows to suit your needs.
To do so, go to Windows > Appearance > Colors > Background and change it from blue to green.
If it doesn’t work for you, it is possible that you have set the Windows default tint to blue or you are using a custom tint color (see the color palette article in this guide).
The next time you open the Windows 8 Desktop app, go back to the settings and change your tint color to your liking.
